It's Nice To Know My Grandparents Are Interested In My Love Life

Or my lack of one. Two funny stories...

As most of you know, a group of my friends and I drove down to Redlands a few weeks ago to see my brother in the LifeHouse play "Esther." (That's when my car had all its problems.) Anyway, my brother and I were driving our grandparents home from the airport on Monday, and we were talking about how my car battery had died that weekend, and I said, "Yeah, it was the weekend I came down to see Esther." And my grandfather leaned forward and said, "Esther? Esther? Who's Esther?" thinking she was perhaps a romantic interest of mine.

And secondly... I showed both my grandparents a lot of the pictures from my computer on Monday night, and Grandmom remarked that Eleanor "looked like a fun girl." I had to agree, of course. Later on, I mentioned that I had just sent Eleanor a letter, and Grandmom said, "Oh, I knew you guys were friends, but I didn't know she was the love of your life."

I wonder where she got that idea.

Your grandmother is actually one of our lead spies. No matter how old we get, women still have that intuition.
